Here at the Madu Medical Group, we focus on providing the highest quality service to all our patients. We’re licensed to treat and diagnose all manner of physical disorders and illnesses, but we also specialize in osteopathic manipulation, a hands-on approach to wellness that focuses on realigning our patients’ bodies to treat the source of their illness, rather than just its symptoms.
We’re also fully equipped to meet all your primary care needs. Whether you’ve come to treat common conditions like a sinus infection or UTI, or you’re in need of vaccinations, blood or urine testings, or complete physical wellness examinations, we’ll be able to give you prompt, expert treatment to minimize your symptoms and get you back on track to wellbeing.
Complete Physical Exams
One of our most common and most important procedures is the Complete Physical Exam. A complete physical begins with a thorough structural examination of the patient. We pay special attention to your posture, spine, and balance and perform checks on your joints, muscles, tendons, and ligaments. After your exam and a comprehensive interview about your health, barring any additional tests, we’ll review and analyze our findings and give you a diagnosis for the potential sources of your symptoms.
We can also diagnose and provide treatment for a host of common maladies, including:
- Colds and flu
- Strep throat
- Ear infections
- Acute Bronchitis
- Urinary Tract Infections
Treatment of Chronic Illness
Certain conditions require constant monitoring and treatment, and here at Madu Medical Group, we can give you the counsel and care you need to make living with these conditions and manageable as possible. We can also offer recommendations for lifestyle changes that will minimize the risks associated with these kinds of disorders. Below you’ll find a list of some of the chronic conditions we’re experienced in treating:
- High Cholesterol
Spirometry is a simple test that involves assessing how well your lungs function. It can help to diagnose asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and a number of other conditions that affect your respiration. We can also use your test results to determine treatment options for chronic lung conditions, with the goal of improving your overall quality of life.
We can provide a number of common seasonal and benchmark vaccines, including vaccines for Flu, Pneumonia, and Tetanus.
Treatment of Musculoskeletal Pain
Musculoskeletal pain can arise from a number of lifestyle choices and medical conditions. If you suffer from either chronic or acute musculoskeletal pain, we can do a thorough exam to determine the source, and offer either physical therapy, medical treatments, or a combination of the two to help mitigate your symptoms and treat the cause of your discomfort.
Colorectal screenings are recommended for anyone over the age of 50, and for individuals living with Crohn’s disease, inflammatory bowel syndrome, and ulcerative colitis, among other disorders.
After the age of 21, women should plan to receive pap smears at least once every three years. These tests help to determine if unusual cell growth is occurring in the cervix, and are crucial in the early detection and prevention of cervical cancer.
EKGs are used to diagnose irregular heart rhythms, to help determine the cause of unexplained chest pains, and to test the efficacy of current treatments for patients living with heart disease or high risk factors.
Tuberculosis skin test (PPD)
Despite what many people think, tuberculosis is still surprisingly prevalent in the United States and across the world. We can test for both latent TB infections and TB disease and determine if you’re carrying the bacteria. Negative TB test results are often required when traveling internationally.
Onsite Blood Draw
We are equipped to draw blood for laboratory diagnostic and screening procedures.
We can perform a number of tests to help diagnose acute illnesses, including rapid strep testing and rapid influenza (flu) testing. We also offer urinalysis, which can be used to detect early signs of disease, help monitor diabetic symptoms, and diagnose urinary tract infections, among many other things.
